In 1976, Sam and Vicki opened a tiny shop on the Mornington Peninsula selling pine furniture and some giftware items. They did everything themselves, even delivering furniture in their blue Mazda van.

A true family business, Vicki even had her young children with her in store at times, feeding them in a back room office between talking with clients.

After building a reputation for quality Australian furniture, in 2002 they rebranded to become Urban Rhythm.

40 years on, Urban Rhythm has become a leading furniture brand in Melbourne, renowned for its timeless appeal and its Australian made bespoke timber and sofa range.

Although Urban Rhythm is no longer the same little pine furniture shop that started all those years ago, the same tried and tested family values remain. Honesty, integrity, fairness, respect and goodwill are just some of the values that Sam and Vicki have instilled in their business.  Most importantly, they have sought to cultivate strong relationships with their suppliers, staff and clients. It is these strong relationships that have made Urban Rhythm what it is today.
