The Richmond precinct is one of Melbourne’s best places to shop all things home and enjoy a bite to eat on the way! So, we thought we’d share some of our favourite stores to visit after you’ve come to say hi at our store.
Here are 10 places we recommend you visit when shopping the Richmond precinct:
1. For your coffee hit
When facing a big day of furniture shopping it helps to have a good coffee to get started. We recommend you visit Top Paddock on Church Street. Coffee is taken very seriously at Top Paddock. The baristas use Five Senses coffee as their chosen beans, as well as creating their own signature blends to pair with their tasty dishes.
Word of warning – It gets quite busy on a weekend!
2. For homewares
After you’ve got your coffee hit, head next door to Top 3 By Design. From linen and tableware to pots and candles, you’ll find plenty of homewares to fill your interior here. In fact, you can even pick up a toothbrush or items to satisfy your pets!
3. For something sweet
Craving a sweet treat? It’s hard to go past the decant dessert shop Pana Chocolate. Here you’ll find vegan delights and raw chocolate that look insanely delicious, and taste even better. Enjoy bite sized cakes with flavours of triple berry and caramel choc chunk, or try their rich strawberry almond ganache.

4. For a good read

Looking for an interesting book to display on your new Urban Rhythm coffee table? The Avenue Bookstore on Swan Street has a plethora of books to choose from. It’s also a great place to escape from the crowds and take a time out from all your shopping.
5. For a quick bite
If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat for lunch, Fonda serves up fresh Mexican delights without a long wait. Choose from a tasty taco, quesadilla, ensalada or burrito. And if you’re feeling really in the spirit, enjoy a classic Margarita!
6. For a healthy lunch
Okay, so Serotonin Eatery is technically in Burnley, but it’s pretty close to the Richmond Precinct and worth the extra 5 minutes’ walk. The contemporary, light-filled space is ideal to recharge your batteries after shopping up a storm. And the healthy menu of colourful Açai bowls, vegan falafel burgers and banana pancakes will have you powered up for the next leg of your shopping trip.
7. For a memorable gift
Hut 13 is the perfect place to shop if you’re looking for a memorable gift for a loved one or yourself. Don’t be deceived by its little size as Hut 13 has a great selection of handmade products, quirky homewares and local designer goods. You’ll find something for everyone in this creative store.
8. For something unique
It’s not hard to find a unique piece for your home in Mark Douglass’s retail space. Mark’s hand-blown glass lighting will delight, as will the extensive collection of objects, art and homewares. Be careful, it’s hard to walk out of this store empty handed.
9. For your art fix

Art is a great way to inject personality, colour and texture to any interior and the Sophie Gannon Gallery is the place in Richmond to get your art fix. The space hosts monthly exhibitions and has an extensive collection of art in the stock room for you to peruse.
10. For Friday night drinks
Catch up with friends after a day of shopping at The Meatball & Wine Bar. The atmosphere is lively, often filled with local workers and those looking for a good feast. Share and antipasto plate, enjoy their famous artisan balls or simply savour a wine or two.
